This is the second in The Basic Art of Italian Cooking series and was selected as the Best Italian Cuisine Book in America for 2009 by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Europe. Filled with recipes, wine pairing tips, decorating tips, menus for many Holidays-Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Epiphany, Valentine's Day, Carnevale. Most of the stories relate to my memories of all the Holidays I have spent at home in Italy but there is a story or two about Christmases spent at home in the US as well and my family's ritual Feast of the Seven Fishes Dinner for Christmas Eve. But don't wait for a Holiday to use these recipes, make any day a Holiday with one of these special meals! Recipes are easy to follow.

The book for me, also brings special memories of going to Paris for the award ceremony for the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards and meeting hte top chefs from all over the world..some that I had only read about. It was really an honor to know that this book was selected for an award that honors some of the top cookbooks in the world from the top chefs in the world!
